Vilano Beach Christian Church

Pastor Ed Irish, with the support of the Florida Baptist Convention and Turning Point at Calvary Church has planted a new church in Vilano Beach. Vilano Beach Christian Church began Sunday morning worship services on March 28, 2021. Sunday worship services are at 11:00 AM in the NSIA Community Center.

Vilano Beach Christian Church is intended to be a gathering place for all people to encounter the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to equip His followers for a deeper personal relationship. The Bible describes the Christian church in chapter 2 verse 42 of Book of Acts saying, "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

Pastor Irish is a born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is committed to serve Him as the pastor at Vilano Beach Christian Church. He has led the Senior Bible Study Ministry conducting bible studies at senior facilities in Jacksonville since 2014. He received a Master of Ministry (Pastoral Leadership) degree in 2020 from Andersonville Theological Seminary.

Anyone who is interested in gathering with us can visit the church’s website at, vilanobeachcc.org for additional information. You can also contact Pastor Ed at 904-453-9644.

Welcome to 2021! NSIA is glad to start a new year and we have some new things in the works for this year.

But first, here is a brief recap of 2020. January and February saw record numbers of Fitness and Art classes and other events, then like everyone else, we were confronted with a pandemic and had to cancel the Vilano Bridge Run, but since preparations were nearly complete, we were still able to give $5,000 to the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind.

We had also made the decision early in 2020 to replace the roof on the Firehouse, so that project was accomplished in 2020. Another update on our facilities was a new pergola that was built as an Eagle Scout project by Will Lloyd.

Now in 2021, we are looking forward to safely having classes and meetings and in a few months having a new church begin services. We will not have a 2021 Vilano Bridge Run, but plans to have a tour of homes later in the year are underway.

Please check out our new website where you can see the calendar of events, see what’s going on our facilities which includes the two buildings on the corner of Meadow Avenue and First Street, a ball field, tennis and basketball courts as well as a dog park and a community garden. You can join NSIA and get information on renting one of our buildings for your next event all on the website.
